Council of Mining Engineers and Geoscientists ::.. The gigantic growth of the Membership of the Society and the ever increasing interests in the Wealth of the Earth Made it necessary to regulate the standards of practice of geoscientists and mining engineers, to register qualified members and discipline erring ones.
The mining engineers and geoscientists' decree 40, of 1990, mandated the establishment of a council, which is expected to monitor the conditions set out in the decree, in addition to regulating the practice of mining and geoscientists in the country.
Membership of the NMGS has therefore become imperative for any one practising the profession and /or establishing a mineral based concern in the country. Council of NMGS ::..
